IF YOU ARE PROUD TO BE A CATHOLIC THEN WHY ARE YOU AFRAID?
A few years back, I attended a P.T.A meeting at my younger brother's school, when the time was due for the meeting the P.T.A chairman pointed at one beautiful lady to lead us in prayers and she started thus "In Jesus's name" and rounded up the prayers with "In Jesus name". but one thing caught my attention after the prayers I saw her make the sign of the cross secretly, and I was like what a shame, after the meeting, I confronted her and asked "Are you proudly a catholic?" She answered with a smile on her face and I asked her, then why are you afraid to be identified as one?
Why are we so afraid to say or make the sign of the cross in public? why do we tend to hide our sacramentals while in public? why are we afraid to be recognized as Catholics? I have met so many Catholics who always say "It's just odd".
Why should it be odd, our separated brethren boldly start their prayers in the name of Jesus so why be nervous about making the sign of the cross when called to pray as if it is a wrong thing? If we are proudly Catholics then let us not shy away from those things that identify us, there is a power in making the sign of the cross. Why do Catholics make the sign of the cross? What are the benefits of saying those words? Is the sign of the cross biblical? FIND OUT TOMORROW! BUT ARE YOU ALSO AFRAID OF YOUR FAITH?
